I think this is the opposite of what you need. I think this just split the DVI signal (say, from your PC) to another DVI or HDMI.
You need something like this:

There is also this:

All you need is a cheap DVI selector/switcher which you can find in PC stores, and then you can use a cheap HDMI to DVI cable (cheap because all you need is 720p, the monitor will upscale byitself just fine).

i want to connect 360 and pc to a monitor
what i want to know is how does it work, it doesn't have any switches so do i have to turn off either one of the devices to have a signal in one of them? |
Buy monitor with multiple inputs. Mine has DVI, HDMI and VGA so I don't need any adapters. I have two PCs connected to it all the time, one via DVI and other via HDMI.
