Heyi there guys I'm bored and in the mood for a medieval style RPG, something semi-recent so like not 10 year old classics, with good atmosphere, something like Dark Messiah or The Witcher, anyone got any suggestions? Peace

Gothic 3 is actually pretty decent with the latest community patch and some graphical tweaks - a lot of people skipped it completely because of the early versions mess.

Drakensang was pretty meh to be honest, I didn't even finish it, but it definitely has the medieval vibe.

FireMaster:

English version of Divinity 2 and Risen are due to get released before DA. Wink

Gothic 1&2, probably 3 too with all the patches.

Looking ahead Risen and Gothic 4.

PS:T would require a time machine as well to not be a "10 year old classic" tho. Razz

Do you have a good resource for those gothic 3 tweaks?

I loved Gothic 1&2 but I never was able to get 3 working very well...which sucked as would have really liked to play it despite its bugs

if you want a medieval feel dont hesitate to try a module made by Fabien Cerutti on NWN1 :

here is the synopsis :

"Medieval Europe... This is the XIIIth century, but a XIIIth century where you can still find old Elven cities in the depths of ancient forests, or Dwarven kingdoms hidden in the northeastern part of Germany... The Holy Inquisition of the Catholic Church is hunting down magic users and a New World is about to born... But the forces of the Old World, with its magic and its legendary creatures, are still there...trying to survive. "

"After the death of his father, Gregor of Kosigan, the Bastard of Kosigan (your character) has been exiled from his homeland by the Count of Kosigan, his uncle Borogar, who has always hated him. He’s become a mercenary adventurer, wandering from place to place. His travels eventually lead him to the principality of Germany and the city of Cologne, where he gets caught up in a web of intrigue and deceit involving the Holy Inquisition of the Catholic Church and a coven of local witches. He soon learns that the stakes are higher than he thought, that things aren’t always what they seem to be, and that choices aren’t necessarily black and white. The richness of the dialog provides for realistic role-playing for all alignments, and the choices your PC makes affect not only the outcome of this module, but also everything that happens throughout it. "
