Game isn't loading, it just sits at the loading title and either hangs or crashed.

Yup, same here, anyone got a good idea? Disc seems fine and install went without any problems.

The same thing is happening to me. I have also tried to emulate it through alcohol and still the same thing. Darn this release is one the worst ever. Is there a fix to this problem?

It's good release, since it's work perfectly with my machine(s) Wink
I bet the problem is with the game itself. But there's no patches released yet.

Man stop lying. It's only good for very few people. The majority are having tons of issues.

i had the same problem, i burned a few CD's of disc 1 but game would not start. But i got it working by mounting the image of cd1 with Daemon tools 3.47 with all emulation options turned on, did not work if i mounted with alcohol.

Well I have 6 decent machine which can run any current game in the market. Only two identical machines, rest are mixed with AMD, Intel, nVidia, ATI.
And ALL run the game "perfectly".

If you happen to have any eyes and knowledge where to look, you would see that the original/retail/whateffa is also glitzy and buggy.

Seen couple of huge wireframe bugs, which are listed in the developer forums.. so am I lying? am I?...

and where are all the posts of those huge crowd of people that cannot get it working? *wonder*

PostPosted: Thu, 25th Nov 2004 19:05    Post subject: I can't make it run either
I read the postings abount mounting an image using Alcohol.
I am using Alcohol 1.4.1
I have downloaded all 3 CDs for Vampire-Masquerade.
I have installed all 3 cd's
The game won;t run ('emulation detected...blabla...)

I download the mini-image from Gamecopyworld

I launch Alcohol and mount the image to my virtual CD drive.
I double-click the icon on my desktop and I still get the emulation error.

I have tried mounting the CD1 image also, with the same results.

If I check emulation/advanced emulation / bad sectors, my machine bluescreens and reboots when I launch the game

Before you ask, I have a high-end machine, which plays DOOM3 and Half Life 2 at 1600x1200.
What am I missing or what should I be doing?

Is Daemon Tools the key here?

Thank you for your assistance.

I'm using Daemon-Tools (version 3.47) and it works... and no emulation options needed.

for Alcohol users the nfo only mentions burning the CD1 via Alcohol, no mention "how" to mount:
2. Burn the bin/cue for CD 2&3 with Nero Burning ROM, CDRWin or equivalent.
Use Alcohol 120% v1.9.2.1705 with the Safedisc 2/3 profile to burn CD1 using 4x write speed.

Same as the original poster although i can run the image and also the mini-image fine using Alcohol. Can't burn CD1 at all, i've followed the .nfo but it just hangs on the very first loading screen. I thought this would be a walk in the park for my new Liteon burner but obviously not.
Sad

1. I was originally able to burn CD1 by convertingthe .MDF to .ISO first (using WinISO).

2. By using Daemon Tools and one of the mini-images that are out there, the game now loads and plays without problems.
Thanks for all the tips!

Burning wasn't a problem, most of it is that it will not start because of the generic crash at the load screen.

Dont see the problem here... install the game, go to GCW to get a no-cd-image, mount the image in daemon-tools/alcohol and the game runs like a charm....
Have had zero problems here with the game, except for the sometimes crappy graphics and physics Wink
