i don't understand why you folks pay for it
I mean i'm already using the net and paying my ISP for it, why should I pay some other service to use it for me or allow me to use it again?
you are just uneducated about the internet doesn't mean you should let some company use it for you for money, just learn like I did, I've been using the internet for a whole year now.

Downloading at 1.29 MBps, unlimited, and newest releases for $6 a month (split between people) is definately worth using over torrents.

torrents are great. and sharing is caring.
i've been seeding some of the rarer stuff, by myself, for years now. if you care about something, you'll want it to be available for others too. fuck that x days retention policy. with this usenet thingie, in a few years you'll have trouble finding a certain soundtrack or movie or whatever. and then you'll be sorry, but it'll be too late.
also paying for pirated content.. i'll NEVAR do that. never fucking ever. instead of buying something and supporting the people who made it, you'd rather pay some asshole profiteer who doesn't deserve anything, except jail? that's depressing.
i'm with firemaster here.

I really can't complain with my rapidshare, altho I never really understood what's the deal with the usenet 
And there's time when you can find sth useful on torrents - mostly books for me, and from a specific source so...
