The Witcher, a previously PC exclusive action title is now coming to the PS3 and the 360 in the form of The Witcher: Rise of the White Wolf.
The Witcher is an action RPG incorporating a simple-yet-interesting game system, along with a complex plot and attractive 3D graphics. Already on the PC for over a year, with an enhanced edition released a few months ago, the console version will features a new engine/combat system, new animations/models/vegetation, dynamic lighting/shadows, achievements/trophies, sixaxxis support, new and more aggressive enemy behavior, full character control with optimized console controls.

i knew it was coming because on their site they asked for 360 animators years ago but i guess i just forgot to play it despite the huge release gap

This could be awesome, even though I've already completed The Witcher on PC I'll definitely be getting this.

Over on the Witcher forum, someone started a thread titled "Rise of the White Wolf cancelled?" PR and community manager Eriash popped in to say, "We will comment on this in official release soon." Oh dear.
It'll be a shame if The Witcher doesn't make it to consoles - the Enhanced Edition of the PC game scored a healthy 8/10 on Eurogamer, and not just because it came with a free map. Read our review for all the business.

it's not canceled. It's been put on hold untill the financial argues are taken care of.

Difference is:
Cancelled = will never see the day of light finished.
On hold = Will be finished later.
Time will tell.

To be honest I think this game being canceled for the 360 was for the best. While the game is great I just don't see the average console gamer playing it. I think it would have sold horribly and some of those who bought it would just claim its the worst game ever.
