It came to my attention that Futureshop in Canada are selling Verbatim spindle at a ridiculous price. It's simple, they are a bad batch and they are trying to sell them all.

They are selling the 30 disc 8x spindle at 35$ instead of 80$ and its not even on sale
http://tinyurl.com/r6n6p6

I bought one spindle to test it and it's true. They all give me Dirty disc in the 360 or crash as soon that there's a cutscene. and No it's not my 360 cause the game from what i made an image from works fine. And no it's not my burner cause i burn them on 3 different computers.

So be carefull when you go buy a spindle of Verbs

well the dvds are good but they aren't custom layer two modable Sad ... in simple words ,when you burn them with the layer brake of xbox360 they get fukzored when burning layer 2 but if you set them on default layer they burn flawless... is this some kind of way to stop xbox360 burns ?

oh and after burn test the DVD by installing it on HDD... if its goes beyond 50% (layer2) and installs OK your dvd9 burn is fine

now i am on Mints dvd9 ... friking awesome cheap media with quality comparable to Verbatim

Thanks for the heads up guys. I do recall as well, never seeing a 30 pack before. Haven't bought verbs in forever though. I just install the game I'm playing to the HDD and then delete it when I'm done with it. Saves the laser overall I suppose.

Where do you get those? I can't seem to locate them.

Wouldn't mind trying something else if it truly is comparable and works with the XBOX 360 (and is cheaper of course).

yeah... you don't know where your verbs are made anymore. I think the ones from Singapore was supposed to be the most reliable.

My friend and i went there today with his receit when he bought some at 34.99$. We tried to get those at 79.99$ at the old price since they were not on sale. We ended up in a huge arguments with the 2 girls at the counter. after 15 minutes the manager finally showed up, we told him that it was discusting from them to boost the price of from 35$ to 80$.

After checking the computer, he show me his screen saying "i can't sell you under our cost price". When i saw the cost price they are paying for the 30 DL spindle, all hell breaks loose, i was kicking and screaming. Those fuckers are paying the 30 spindle 45.02$ and selling it 79.99$. Thats give or take, 35$ profit, no wonder why they are so expensive, we're getting hustled by them.

5 minutes later, security guards showed up and escorted us outside before they called the cops.

I think we better stick buying them online cause this is a serious ripoff.

Yes and no, i looked at other stores in my are, some of them saled the 30 spindle, they pay more at the cost and sells cheaper than futureshop.

Of course they have to make profits, but at what cost?? To be honnest, exept us (360 backups users), i dont know one single person who buys DL discs. They can sell it like 55$ and make a 10$ profit and sell those spindles..instead, they putting a price way too expensive and they are stuck with it. We would have bought 4 spindle..instead we bought them there https://www.blankmedia.ca/proddetail3.asp?id=1527

Making less money is better than no at all Wink

I only use www.dvdink.no for DLs. They have good deals directly from production in Singapore and India
Most netshops here in Norway only have overpriced verbs. Much better to find a place who specialize in blank media Very Happy www.wesellcd.com seems to be good choice in Sweden, Denmark and Finland it seems like. If not, you always have ebay Very Happy

I never buy verbs anymore tho. But got to admit those Mirrors where cheap for a reason. Moser baer is almost the same price. Seems like Moser baer and Mint is the only brands with about the same reliability as verbatim. The Mirrors started failing after 30 burns for some reason. And after awhile they would be worn out :S :S I mean wtf... played trough a game, played some more online and suddenly I start getting dirty disc. Never happened to Moser Baer, so im buying them until they fail. They better not cuz im buying 45 pack each time.

Premium must be a shitty brand Very Happy http://se.wesellcd.dk/?page=products&product_id=3269

100 DLs for under 700 SEK Very Happy

Yea what a crook charging 35$ dollar in profit. That's pretty normal and I'm betting he isn't a multi-millionaire.

Clothes shops are much worse and even they are scraping the bottom of the barrel financially.

8 out of 10 dentists prefer zipfero to competing brands(fraich3 and Mutantius)!

My visit to Futureshop: Round 2

Went back today cause my defeat in round one left a really bad taste in my mouth. So i remembered about FS policy on having the lowest price. So i grabbed a spindel of 30 DVDs, went on one of their computers where they have internet, went on blankmedia.ca and show the price to them (48.95$). They took 31$ off their 79.99$ regular price and took 10% off of the 31$. So the spindle cost me 45.94$ instead of 79.99$.

I won the fight so if you guys want that spindle cheaper, you know what to do Twisted Evil
