I d/l the retail XP service pack 2. Before I install, Should I? If so....how do you install. There was no NFO to read.... I don't want to screw anything up. I appreciate some instructions... thanks Nit

It is recommended to install, so do it. Use xp-AntiSpy after installing. You should install it on a fresh system. Not an old one. It just messes it up.

What do mean by retail sp2? I pressume you have downloaded the sp2 patch and not the .iso. Then of course there's no nfo. Believe patching over sp1 or standar just messes things up. Get the FTFiso then you may put it in nLite to remove some M$ crap. After that just install it after formatting the OS drive.

do as i did & it;s have been working great ! format c:\ , fresh install WinXP SP1 , install SP2 , then DX9.0c then all drivers. that's all , no problems :] Punk 4 Life ! I totally agree with you. SP2 suck like hell. It should have never been released. F*cking M$ bullshit.

-SP2 has "issues" with some software. Most software has been updated to work with it, and Almost all issues are based on the "free" firewall that comes with it. The firewall is incredibly easy to disable in an in-your-face style, so the "issues" are more with n00btards than software. There's also literature to read before installing anyway. If you can't properly install and configure SP2 on XP, you probably shouldn't be installing anything on a windows computer.
