Just get the pc version of the 360 gamepad? Seems to be popular, at least.

Hate to break it to you but 40$ isn't going to get you much of a wheel at all, let alone a good one. Give the wired 360 pad a try i guess, but honestly, you'd be better off saving up for a bit and getting something nicer.

As for a cheap steering wheel - get a Logitech Formula Force GP. Got mine for 33$, used it for ~ 4 years, great product.

A good wheel will cost you more than that. I got myself a 360 pad yesterday, and so far I'm liking it. It's definitely no G25, but it beats my previous gamepad (Rumblepad 2), the analog triggers work quite well.
Plus, as a bonus because we're getting 360 ports most of the time, everything has straight support for this thing

Yeah, the Formula Force GP is an EOL product, so that'll be hard to find. On top of that, it lacks buttons, and I personally like to have a couple of extra buttons to look behind etc
As for the 360 pad, I don't have any issues with the D-Pad. I generally assign it to functions I rarely use, and for that it works fine. What he says about it not working at all in some games is bullshit, or he tested it with some very old games.
And the Chillstream controller just has some ventilation built in, so you don't get sweaty palms. I've read in a couple of reviews that it's actually quite noisy however, and that after a while your hands cramp up because of the cold air
@ EwarWoo: Yeah, the analog sticks have a very obvious deadzone, but most games let you define this anyway. I also love my Rumblepad, but the analog triggers are bloody fantastic for racing games, beats anything you could figure out on the Rumblepad
Edit: Don't get me wrong btw, the Formula GP was a good wheel in its time, but it's 9 years old now, and simply doesn't hold up to Logitech's newer models. And at under $55, all you'll get is fully plastic flimsy wheels, that have shift triggers and MAYBE two extra buttons. Compared to a G27 or G25 they definitely don't have the same feel

Thx, well i guess im gonna buy x360 gamepad, or if i manage to find some enough good wheel for about 60$
Few months ago i buyed some shitty gamepad, and it really is a plastic shit , its not precise, not in SF4, not in Shift
As i already said, im buying this mainly bcz of some racing games (grid, shift etc), so is x360 pad gonna do his job just fine or, in terms of precision i mean, when steering?

Xbox 360 Controller for Windows is perfect in every way, i've been using one for 3 years now and its just awesome. Everything is built in high quality.
I've had Logitech Rumblepad 2 before but after 1 hour of gaming your thumbs start to hurt because of analog sticks position, very uncomfortable, and also the buttons are low quality , they work very bad after some time.
So go with Xbox 360 controller for Windows, you wont regret it.

It won't be better than a decent wheel, but at your pricepoint I don't know of any wheel that has a good build quality xGAME
It'll take a bit of getting used to driving with the triggers for throttle/brake, and you gotta make sure you set the deadzones correctly.

It's decentish, but it'll be more than that $55 you were willing to spend. €70ish over here
