Should I? I'm not a person who's often ill, but because of my new job I have to use public transportation for ~3 hours a day and it's always pretty crowded.

It's not because of the swine flu. My employer is offering free vaccination and everybody seems to go.

The last time I had a vaccination was... 15 years ago? And I don't even remember against what.. oh yeah and a tetanus shot 10 years ago...

If it's free, do it. If you have a good immune system, it shouldn't cause any problems.

Having a good immune system lowers the chance of a vaccin backfiring. And being vaccinated usually lowers the time the immune system takes to respond to an infection, so the disease should dissipate faster. Most diseases will be fought off by a good immune system, but vaccins/medicine can shorten the time.

Well from what I understand once you take the vaccine you should take it every year. If some kind of flu hits you, it hits you harder if you have not taken the vaccine.

It is a requirement here to take it if you work with the public. They don't want you missing sick days and getting others sick.

I don't believe in it myself but that is life sometimes.

Depending on what country you live in you might just be getting the vaccination for influenza and not H1N1 included anyways Smile BTW your Tetanus shot needs to be refreshed if it was 10 years ago, if it's free and you have older or ill friends and family you might get a benefit from the flu shot.

Is there a possibility of infecting someone when I get the shot and they not? I'm aware that they only vaccinate with dead viruses but I just want to be sure Wink Whatever I had that chance and I didn't got the shot. Never had any problems with the flu. So let's see what happens this year;)

You should have. Vaccination is: I have bunch of viruses, I kill them with fire and then inject in you. Your immune system adapts to it and you have shortened immunization process...

Lets say when you get ill (and not vaccinated) you'll be sick for 3-4 weeks, when you are vaccinated you shorten that period, because with you vaccine you "cheat" and skip few steps of immunization process... And it's not a scam that pharmaceutical companies plane to have world domination Laughing

Who cares about swine flu. It's less deadly than the yearly influenzas.

Catch it and suffer like a (wo)man!

I would rather have swine flu NOW RIGHT NOW instead of in 2 months when the entire workforce has it, if that happens, cause then you are immune \o/

8 out of 10 dentists prefer zipfero to competing brands(fraich3 and Mutantius)!
