I just recently got a total musical crush on Tori Amos. I so love that scaled down thing, with just a very intense, sometimes playful, voice coupled with a piano. Songs like "Winter" and "Leather" sends chills down my spine. I've been listening to her almost constantly for a week or so now, and have started feeling like I'd need a bit of variation. Nfohump might be the totally wrong place to ask, but anyone with suggestions of similar artists?
