I currently have some crappy zyxel modem/router that always has some problems when someone is using the wireless connection for torrenting or when there are like 3 computers connected to the network (1 wired and 2+ wireless). I'm pretty sure that the problems are in the router since restarting it solves most of the problems temporarily(I'm guessing its CPU can't handle the load). So I'm looking for a new router/modem that can handle multiple connections and people using the wireless connection to download at 1MB/s. So some help please?
I've never heard of "Zyxel" so not sure about that brand-
Honestly the problems your having you will experience with any brand. I own a Linksys WRT54G I've upgraded the firmware and even after a lengthy session of downloading the wireless obviously gets flaky as my room mate almost always claims connection problems. Quite annoying!
Is this a routed modem or a modem? This is why I hate wireless, it's not reliable...
