I'll try to keep this post updated with technical fixes as they get posted. This is not a release discussion thread, keep that elsewhere.

Try the Skidrow release. It seems the RZR one has some Steam triggers.
Also, did you install all the VC++ and DX redists?

Could those trigger cause a degrade in performance?
The game ran fine up until I reached the checkpoint during the first real combat mission, then it started freezing and stuttering.
It's not my PC specs that's for sure.

Well it's not the crack...
The game starts to freeze and stutter right after the first checkpoint of the first mission, the minute I step into the HMMV it becomes a stutterfest.
Lowering settings did nothing.

Did you disable "Sync every frame" ?
I had some stuttering in the intro movies. It was gone when i disabled that option.

Maybe it's a memory leak... What hardware are you using?

Intel Core 2 Duo E7200, 2533 MHz
G.Skill 4 GB DDR2-800 DDR2 SDRAM
ATI RADEON HD 4850 512 MB
GIGABYTE EP43-DS3L
and a Western Digital 320GB HD.
And yeah, when I reach that part physical memory usage goes up to 83%

it seems to be a memory leak... im getting 100% ram usage and the swap disk is going crazy.

Apparently if you put all textures on "extreme" setting the game will run like shit.
I put only texture detail and normal mapping on extreme and game ran smooth for about two hours, then started leaking all over the place.

well i play for a bit and the game doesn't crash to desktop, but it switches. then it stays there "not responding".
It's strange because sometimes it happens 5 minutes after i start the game other times i'm able to do a complete chapter.
This really sucks because the game doesn't save the checkpoints.... Skidrow here.

|
 |
Hi everyone,
I have downloaded the Razor release. When I load the game, after the intro video, the "Loading" bar gets to fully loaded - and then the game crashes to desktop.
I'm using the crackfix, Win7, GeForce 9800GTX+, tried run as admin, compat winxp SP2, tried 1024x768 resolution, and I'm getting sick of watching the intro
Any ideas?
Thank you!

I also play it on Win7 but runs like a charm here with everything on extreme @ 1680x1050 so I dont understand why I read that a lot people are experiencing troubles with it..
I run it on a Core i7 920 (stock not OC'd)
6 GB ddr 3 (3x2)
Asus Geforce 275 GTX 896 MB
Intel Core i7 920, Kingston Hyper-X 6GB DDR 3 Triple Channel (3x2 GB), Asus Geforce 275 GTX 896MB

I got exactly the same problem. I've searched on Google and many people has the same problem with the in-game text, but there's no solution yet.

hmm i tried to close some stuff runing, windows 7 sidebar was one of them. I had a feeling the game was coming to the desktop due to the weather update or something like that. Since the timing was random...
I then started playing with everything maxed out and finished the game in a few hours without any crash.

COD4 was running well on my computer. How much more demanding is Modern Warfare 2?

I would guess it's not much more demanding.
DL and try it.

hmm, heavy memory use-age seems te be the problem, I also get the stuttering because the game simply uses all of my 2 gb's of ram.
I think your 6 gb saves you....

Uhm, I'm having a problem with this one: immediatly after I start iw4sp.exe my screen turns to black as it would load and then the whole computer totally freezes. Only reboot gets me back going.
Using Win7 64-bit + i7-860, 5870 Radeon and SKIDROW release, latest Catalyst & sound drivers. Already tried reinstalling but shit keeps hitting the fan.
