Fellow humpers, i need your help. I can't find any good MP game which will keep me hooked for a long time and i've tried so hard. I really did.

I have played everything from BF, CoD, CS, F.E.A.R., TF2., S.W.A.T, R6... lets say almost all more or less popular MP FPS games. Some of them i stopped playing a long time ago because my friends stopped playing them (like S.W.A.T. or R6) and some of them i just hated and didn't like them (newer CoD games).

It has come to this, that except LoL and Rift, i have nothing else to play in MP. But these games can't fulfill the need im seeking for, the need to have a good MP FPS experience installed on PC so i can live happily ever after Very Happy

Because of that, i have come to you, PC Master Race, to help me out in finding a good MP FPS. I don't really care if its an old or a new game, as long it requires some skill to master, doesn't have herp derp elements and one click airstrikes or nuke bombs (CoD); where the playerbase is pretty big (thats a must have) and where shooting just feels right. And ofc game must me balanced.

What i loved playing in MP: CoD2, CoD4 (promod), CS: Source and GO, BF:BC2, S.W.A.T. 4, R6:RS, Quake. Thats what i can think of now. CoD2 is still installed but its not really a game anymore which i can play over and over again; i abused it too much Very Happy CoD4 stopped playing it after good 4 years of active playing, mostly on competitive level. CS:GO keeps crashing after every map load so i uninstalled it with a tear in my eye Sad S.W.A.T. and R6 are pretty much dead. Quake is my saving grace; if anything else fails im going back to this masterpiece.

What i don't want you to suggest me: CoD games, BF games (im just sick of them all), ARMA (no PC for that)

What im thinking of maybe playing: Natural Selection 2, getting back to RO2 or TF2
TF2, not sure if i like it or not. Feels too much like a hat simulator Very Happy
NS2, the thing about is, there are too many mixed feelings about it, so if i can get some input on it, i would be very grateful Smile

Sry for the long post, here is tl:dr: suggest me a good MP FPS, but no CoD or BF games please.

Dunno, Tribes ? May be too futuristic and action, compared to the other games you listed, but it's a very fun game!

Planetside 2 made some serious optimizations lately, so it might worth a look. Although I don't think they implemented the mission system yet. That will make it a lot easier to find the hotspots for beginners. Should be out this month, might be best to wait for that before jumping in.

Insurgency seems like a good game, but is it true that server usually have only 2-3 different maps in rotation? I don't want to experience another Dust2 syndrome Very Happy I've played Insurgency back when it still was only a mod, but the damn thing was full of bugs and glitches, but i liked the idea behind the game Smile

Tribes seems like too much of a P2W game :/

Natural selection 2 only if you have at least a last gen i5/i7 or newer.

otherwise you will be useless mid to end game.

Its a fantastic game that rewards skill and teamwork. I have over 100 hours in it.

But like I said, until I got a haswell, i was only good in the game until 10-15 mins in, when the cpu usage will be so high, that a sub 4ghz cpu thats not recent will just choke.

regarding balance with recent patches, best check their forum as I haven't played in a while.

Excellent game! But driving vehicles or cannons is 1000 times easier with a joystick than it is with mouse/kb.

shitloads of new stuff in my pc. Cant keep track of it all.

Dont like the F2P model and i rather play RO2 if im going to choose WWII game Smile But thanks Smile

Edit: But the full game is only 12$. Interesting Very Happy I think im gonna give it a try in F2P model to see whats the fuss about it Smile But from what i've seen i still like the RO2 much more.

Edit #2: This game has a monthly subscription fee? If that's so, no thanks.

Well, it's f2p, so the worst thing you can lose is time. Smile
