Basically they need to visually obfuscate the turns to make it more aesthetically pleasing. Or maybe just give individual characters their own turn instead of having a ping pong match.

It happens but not constantly, they do strike at different rates.

I liked the first one, liked the level system and the GFX was warm
But i did not like that you got to much xp, then the very good lvl system was to no use, because you could be good at almost everything near the end...
I wonder how long it will take before the first ignorant drops in with "omg they stole the camp from Dragon Age", when in fact it's a refinement upon what was established in the "Das Schwarze Auge/ Realms of Arkania" games.
Drakensang: The Dark Eye was surprisingly good. It had some gameplay flaws such as being too easy, the linear and limited world exploration, some futile skills, but it was a fine party-based RPG, the second best released in this "generation".
DaggerXL: A The Elder Scrolls Chapter II: Daggerfall Engine Remake
German only, English is still TBA. The game got complete voice over this time and that Radon Labs dude told on xfire live stream yesterday it took them 2 month.
He also said they had high priority on voice quality and only took a-class actors.
I wouldnt expect an english release before Q3.

Assuming the engine isn't too different those SQL databases might still make a unofficial translation possible, would still take time of course as it did for the first game.

That's fantastic news, shows the devs are listening to the fans.
I finally decided to play the first one. I hope they fix the enemy AI..what kind of rats would bust through a wall swarm past everyone and then gang rape the magic user sitting 20 meters back? every goddamn time.
Use the Pause feature in situations like this and have a strong healer in your party. Do not do the Mother of all Rats quest too early or you will get your butt handed, do it when you have no other quests left in the first town. I am not sure but i think i was lvl 7 or 8 when i did her. Try to use the terrain to block mob attacks from behind if you are surrounded by many mobs at once.

Ah, yes famous Mother of Rats quest. Do what FastMemFirst said and don't be discuraged, that quest can be (sadly) the hardest in whole game.
Yeah. The healer is my magic user. But it wasn't just at the mother rat..it was every time the wall broke down for an ambush. I would always have the thief/magic user girl near the back and the rats would run past everyone and gang rape her. Every single time. In the final fight (which I'm going to give up on and go back to another save) I've had a couple fights going well, but then they suddenly fall apart. I'm sure it is cheating.
Here is the scenario
3 fighters (main, dwarf, amazon) all on the rat. Good shape
magic user hanging back
I use the amazon to pull the mother with poison arrows. Even got it poisoned to take some debuffs.
Worked great. They were all squaring off against it pounding away. it was attacking the amazon but with the poision and some buff on the amazon (fireflies, and lighting on the rat) it was barely scratching her. So at 300 HP, it calls reinforcements.
I take the dwarf and main and go pick on them to hold them off..but to no avail. They fly past everyone and 4 rats immediately attack the magic user.. 5 seconds later, she's down. I figure I can still hold on.. everyone is doing okay. No..
about 15 seconds later everyone is down.
Not from VP, from wounds.
Almost instantly the rats did mega wounds on everyone.
They all have 11 or more willpower, but it didn't matter. Even the little rats wounded the two fighters down in like 2 or 3 attacks.
Every fight same thing. Everything is going awesome, even got the mother rat down to 200 HP (main is level 5) with everything being cool and then almost instantly everyone was down.
but the rat behaviour was the same everyone. Enter the fight, make a bee-line for the magic user. No rat is that smart.
I really hope that is fixed in the sequel.
Different ruleset (That about three wounds and so.) and as you say the AI uses rather few tactics instead of assigning different ones for different enemy types so mages are always prioritized following ranged characters, unsure if there was any way to counter this or abilities, certain weapons do create wounds easier making certain tougher fights a bit more bearable but again some boss type enemies like that mega rat are also very resistant.
Level up a bit and do some other quests, having cleared out all the rest of the place you can just return later and mop up as soon as you've gained some more experience and better equipment.
(Or different party members even.)
