So who do you think is or was the best game developer in your opinion?
For me nothing comes close to what Microprose was. Huge list of highly innovative and addictive games, like Civilization, B-17, Grand Prix, Master of Magic, Transport Tycoon and the list could go forever. Hasbro and Infrogames should go to hell for screwing them!

I'll leave black isle and the likes out of this cause it'd be unfair to everyone else 
As of now I would say my all time favorite developer WAS Irrational Games before they sold out.
2nd to them is Raven Software, though the seem to be slowly drifting downwards.
Going old school, Shiney and Planet Moon were cool

I've been very impressed with Relic's support and free DLC. I also think that DoW 2 gets my nod as GotY for '09. Obviously Valve, Blizzard and Bioware are elite, but I'm glad to see great support post release by Relic. Hopefully BF:BC2 will kick ass and that will put DICE right back in the spotlight again in my book.

while there are several very good developers, the best one is definitely blizzard.
their games seem to be guaranteed to bring about paradigm shifts, causing many other developers to try and imitate their advancements for years.
their games are always successful to an extent that many other developers can only dream of, and while many people dislike world of warcraft, it just can't be denied that it revolutionized MMOs.
they also keep up support for their games for many years, still releasing patches for games that are a decade old.
so while there might be games out there that I personally like more than certain blizzard games, this is about the best developer and not my personal game top5 or something, and blizzard is simply the only developer which I can trust to always release excellent games. they never disappointed so far.
