anyone able to advise.
just grabbed this (Assassins.Creed.2.PAL.XBOX360-[DNL])
burned through imgburn as normal.
no errors reported through imgburn
when inserting the dvd into the console it says 'Play DVD'
Any ideas what ive done wrong?

What is your drive firmware version? Ass Creed 2 has wave4, if your drive firmware is older than 1.61 you have two options:

If your drive firmware is 1.60 there is an activation.iso which you can burn and insert before playing any wave4 games, which allows wave4 games to boot.

Otherwise you could patch the Ass Creed 2 image with older wave data to allow it to lauch, but this could be unsafe for xbox live.

im running 1.6
does 1.61 get rid of this problem? i.e. no boot cd required

Yes it does. 1.61 is not available for all drives though.

i was thinking since im banned to just patch ac2 from w4 to w3 but i heard there is a weird system update loop that happens when u do so ,which renders game unplayable.. i currenty have ac2 retail and it plays fine but i never was prompted a system install when i loaded it up. . since i played retail i a make a backup that is wave patched to w3 will it play? i have liteon 1.51.
