Hmm... not sure about this one. Not even sure about the movie yet. Oh well at least it's pal so it's made up my mind for me.
What is the overall story supposed to be anyway?

It's aliens vs humans...
I think you can choose at 50% of the game you gonna fight with the humans or aliens.

Dont think twice on getting this one.
This game deservers to be played just to check out this world of pandora, the visuals are really good.

liking it so far...think lost planet 2 clone + vehicles + the xp system you get in FPS multiplayer these days

I can't wait for the movie, but I'm not entirely sold on the game yet.... in any case I'd probably wait until after seeing Avatar before playing it. I know it's a prequel story, but there's still plenty of stuff here that could end up being a bit spoilerish, such as the culture of the Na'vi (which I hear was completely made up right down to their language), the monsters, etc.
It does look quite nice though from the screens and trailers. So I'm hoping the verdict on here will eventually at least be 'better than average'.

one thing they definitely fucked up are the na'vi (the blue guys) - gameplay as one of them is both frustrating and sleep-inducing at the same time. human gameplay is rock solid tho.

wow graphics look 2002ish and gameplay is to puke.

Played the game after patching it to get it to run on 1.4.1 and love it , only played it for 10 min cause I pre ordered this one.
My son is playing it on the flashed box and like it alot.

Well, it's a third person shooter, and from my experience with the 360 controller (on the PC version), there is no aim assist, but there are a lot of small things to shoot, which drove me nuts with the controller (much easier with the mouse). Vehicles, on the other hand, are awful with the mouse and keyboard, so best I think is of both worlds, mouse for aiming and controller for driving.

yeah, always plus and minuses with it. The 360 controller is pretty damn good with driving games, but I just had to get a proper wheel when forza 3 came out 
Anyway most TPS games on the 360 doesn't have any aim assist at all. But in most of them you have the ability to take cover and blind fire. Gears of war game would be impossible without it. Most of the game you are in cover, lol

There is no cover here. There are some abilities (like heal, space bombard, etc) you enable and then take time to cool off.

Yeah, there was invisibility in the demo, now I remember. There was certainly no reason to use it though, the demo was very short. There was a section with a huge beast, but there was a narrow path where you could go and shoot at it without it being able to come and attack you (it was running into the wall  ). But overall the game looks impressive, and it seems the campaign will split at some point (either playing as a marine or Na'vi). MP could be cool.
