Hi there,

I encounter some fps drops in ME2 ( sometimes ) and Dragon Age ( like 10 per minute ) but If I set the affinity to 1core are gone but also I lose about ~20fps ( tried with 2 cores tho but same thing, only with one works well ) I've installed AMD Dual Core Optimizer but same ( well i though is going to help even with quads ). Graphic drivers are updated.

Well in ME2 you won't be able to fix it. Why? Cuz it's a badly ported console game. Don't get me wrong, it looks decent enough, and it's a good game - but a console port nonetheless. Loading times also varied massively for me; sometimes it would take like 3 minutes minimum per change (even when changing decks on the Normandy for example Neutral), whereas other times it would just load as long as expected (i.e. 10 seconds maximum for deckchanges).

Only way to get rid of weird drops and varying loading times in ME2 is what you already did: Setting the affinity to just a single core.

Dunno about Dragon Age though Smile

You don't have to "set" the game to one core, you just have to select it - then immediately change it back. That clears the ME2 loading issue for at LEAST a half dozen hours gameplay. I couldn't advise on you DAO though, that game had a serious memory leak and the only real fix for the hideous loading times after a few hours play was to quit it and reload the game.

None of that should have affected framerate though, so I really don't know what that's all about Sad

It's not as bad as GTA4, but it's still a bloody horrible console port. Mouse movement is pretty shit (3/11 in Windows, mouse set to 1000 DPI, lowest camera speed ingame - and still a 2cm movement makes me do a 180, which is far too high for my liking - acceleration is off everywhere it can be turned off), and the loading times of course. ME1 didn't have any of these issues, and I can't say whether ME2 runs smoother than ME1, had 60 FPS capped in both so Smile

well u just described your personal problems which i don't have, so for me it aint bloody horrible console port mainly coz it doesn't even support a 360 pad, no problems with a mice either, i got logitech mx1000 and it works pretty good with that

bloody horrible console port can be considered only if;
1) no ws support
2) no aa+af support (in this case u can force aa, at least i can)
3) game runs like dog shit and requires at least a quad core
4) game has so many graphical and gameplay glitches that requires a 1 gig patch
5) no real mice/kb support

I wish all horrible console ports were as "bad" as ME2.

Me too! Holy shit pwerelds, you really think ME2 was a bad port?? I was absolutely stunned with how it looked and ran, and while yes; the loading time bug was annoying, it was an easy fix that didn't necessitate several 500MB patches to fix Very Happy

Lol @ Mortibus Cool Face

I'm not saying it's a bad game or terrible port, but it's not a perfect port either. The bad multicore support proves that. An MX1000 sits at 800 DPI (correct me if I'm wrong) so yeah, for you the mouse support won't be that horrible. The lack of a proper sensitivity setting ingame is where it fails really, "low" in ME2 is still about 2000 on the engine's sensitivity scale; in UT3 I have a setting of 250

Don't get me wrong, I played through the whole thing (SEXIN UP THE LADIES YO..although not Bugs Bunny) and loved it, I just think they could've done even better in terms of accomodating the PC's advantages over consoles Smile
