STORY :
In the distant future, Earth has undergone a drastic change in the environment. For reasons unknown, poisonous layers of gases permeated the land, which resulted in near extinction for mankind due to our inability to adapt to the new changes. The remaining humans built a gigantic device called Basel, an environment purifier buried deep in the ground, which cleanses the air in the surrounding land and hopefully the rest of Earth as well. Civilization began to reform around Basel itself, building a city around the tower. The upper classes live in luxurious apartments at the top of Basel while the lower classes reside among the many districts built around the base and stem of the tower. For countless years, all is well, until one day the purifier inside Basel begins to malfunction.

just played through the demo.
the combat system seems interesting, even though I don't understand anything
It seems like a mix between real time and turn based and all you do is set up a path for your char on which he then runs and you can jump + shoot at certain times.
Really strange/different somehow.
I guess it matters from which side you attack or you can do team/special attacks etc. but without beeing able to read jap. I can't figure it out.
can't use the HDD on the new box yet But will eventually
Im sure it can't be that hard to explain but yeah JRPGs need something new now... zzZzz
then imagine Jrpg with the fallout 3 battle system , you can play this game as a TPS (ME2 style) or with they variation of geck thats WAY better done then in fallout3
(you pick where they should go and who to shot ... then computer will move you character and you have to press a button to shoot and jump in the right time like a QT)
Its out on Tuesday so hopefully we should see a release this week-end.
Shame Spiderman isn't here to share the excitement.
(Though maybe his sockpuppet isn't too far away)

...... Uhh... yeah. I'm suddenly less than excited for this. I hope, as Spiderbunny said, that you can choose between gameplay modes, because that constant stop/start stuff looks extremely annoying.
i liked the combat was fun, but was really confusing first (lack of jap ^^)
Well its a turnbased realtime mix, but u can say where ur char has to run and u control all ur chars ! ;D
from the youtube vids i have seen, this seems like something that will cause a headache with all the short half complete animations while attacking. anyone have a link to show this game proper maybe?
when people run and start like 4 attacks in quick succession that's really not how you're supposed to play.
you're supposed to start running, then keep the attack button pressed which fills up the attack meter and then you attack a single time for big damage.
I noticed that the noobs in videos often just run and attack, then after the animation is over and they continue running they attack again, and again, and it looks retarded, especially in the video posted by sabin up there. the guy just sucks.
I saw that in a tutorial video but it doesn't show that much. still, it should give you a better idea of how the combat works.
thanks for the links, they do make it look better than the youtube attempts, but i think it might involve too much patience in the setting up of attacks. the after affects look cool though.
