from time to time I consider going back to the original skate...
I played the beginning but found it too frustrating (or I'm too bad for it:P )

yes it is! but as the controls are very different, it can be frustrating if u don't "get it" fast.
I think the game is great, I just wished I knew how to play it properly

certainly the most refreshing control scheme since fight night.
cant wait for the new one, am always going back to the first just to mess around for a bit, its like crack tho, i can play it for hours.

Man, I was going to play Skate last night. But, I put the disc in and nothing happened. So, I took the disc out and at first what looked like a scratch from the center ring to the outside was actually a full crack.
Dammit! I must have bent the case when I took it to a friend's house.
Inz, YES!!! I don't care about the skating culture and I love this game. It's so easy to play and now that they are implementing the get off the board feature, it's not going to be as frustrating to get back on the sidewalk.
This game is nothing like the Tony Hawk series where the skating is insanely over the top. Of course, it's not completely realistic, but it's damn closer than TH.
I will now be purchasing a used copy of the first Skate to replace my broken one. Pisses me off!
Also, Gamestop shows 3/3/09 as the shipping date.

Yeah, it's always tough adapting to new control schemes. But what I really like about Skate is that you don't press a button to automatically hit the rail. You actually have to time your jump and land it yourself.
I went to the store and it's $35 used and $40 new. This was the first game that I blindly purchased and felt I definitely got my money's worth. Not many games are worth $100 (paid $60 the first time), but this one just might be. I am very upset that mine is broken and I will probably be picking up another new copy. Besides... the devs deserve it for this game. |

Looking forward to this. Played Skate one hell of a lot last year.
The controls are tricky but once you get the hang of them it, the game is awesome. So open and you can pretty much do tricks anywhere. Makes Tony Hawk look so arcadey and childlike.
Potentially my game of the year 2009 and considering we're in january, thats saying a lot.
Roll on tomorrow (or later today actually)
