So, today I tried connecting the x360 to Media Center, using my Win 7 PC. Can't get it to work, after I type the MC 8 digit Key, the x360 tries to "sign in". The routher has no IE cable in it, so I get a "Can't Connect" error saying:
Quote:

This game requires a connection to Xbox LIVE.

To test your connection, open System Settings and select Network Settings, Test Xbox LIVE Connection.

So my question is does connecting a x360 to PC via Media Center requires access to LIVE or i'm just not doing something right?

Are you banned ?

According to this explanation, Microsoft not only bans a modified Xbox 360 console from Xbox Live if it is found to be modified, the console manufacturer actively disables the hard drive and Windows Media Center functionality as a consequence of modifying the console.

I'm not sure though.

I'm not banned, but i might be if I let it connect to LIVE. That's the main reason there's no IE cable in the router.
My OS detects the x360 in Network/Media Devices. Same with MC, it detects it. I've tried it with "Connect to PC" option, and that works, but MC doesn't (even the test connection with MC fails). I don't get it why it keeps trying to "sign in" to something, witch apparently is LIVE, when MC is trying to establish a connection with the x360 through that setup.
I don't understand why though, don't think i need a update or something (i've never used MC between PC and x360 before).

Reset your x360 to the factory defaults.

What does IE cable stand for by the way ?

Done, same thing: the x360 keeps trying to download something.

I was hoping it meant "Internet Explorer cable", in which case there would be epic ramifications ...
