I have an issue with Mass Effect 2 with the sound going completely out of sync with the cutscenes. Seems to be the longer the cut scene the more it goes out of sync. Also on the short cut scenes the speech is getting clipped at the end so they never finish their dialogue.

I have tried lowering the settings considerably etc but no joy.

When I start up Mass Effect 2 it comes up an ffdshow message asking if i want to use ffdshow, I have tried it with and without but still the same.

Creative recently released updated drivers, try those if you do not have them already, other than that follow VGAdeadcafe's recommendations. Smile
(Codecs in particular can interfere, I use K-lite myself, standard version to avoid getting all sorts of stuff not needed, due to ease of use but it's set up in a slightly more advanced way to avoid conflicts.)
