Ok guys I have a really strange problem and i'm totally stumped. I've been getting a limited or no connectivity error on my connection at what i thought was random times lately. I've discovered the error is caused when i'm downloading at max capacity from news servers.

I first tried changing ports of news reader (newsbin pro). Then tried changing news reader to grab it. And finally tried changing news server totally from giganews to astraweb. Everytime the same problem cropped up. After an unspecified time the limited or no connectivity error appears. But I can download from the web at a decent speed just fine.

Thinking it might be a wireless issue, I connected via lan. It held the connection alot more consistantly. But over 2-3 hrs of downloading i got the same error. I still had solid connection to the router and when wireless i still was connected to my router, but no internet access.

I contacted my ISP (NTL) and have been told that my connection is fine and its a user end issue. This is really starting to get under my skin. Im gonna buy a 20m cat5 cable monday but i still want to get it working 100%. Anyone had this problem before or have any ideas?[/i]

I use newsbinpro and had similar issues. I corrected it by changed my downloads to a different hardrive. Problem I later found out was for whatever reason, my harddrive could not handle downloading and playing games or whatever at same time. Try changing your downloads folder to a different drive other than the OS system.

You could try to disable the setting that windows is allowed to powerdown your network cards.
I know it's a known issue for wireless cards at least.

You could also try this
