Bit of a dumb question, but i'm sure your not the only person who would ask it.
This ones more a psychological thriller driven by story than Psi-Ops.
Psi-Ops is more of a FPS action based.

I enjoyed this and Psi Ops to the point that I played through both to the end and completed them which I tend to only do with games that I find to be worth it. Most of the reviews that I read rated the game as average-good which is probably fair, it isnt a revolutionary title but theres alot of fun to be had. AJ-'s description of the game is spot on for me this has much more of a story, you flit between the past and the present unlocking psychic powers along the way and it has some clever plot twists/ideas - I think I understand the references to Akira that someone mentioned I wont mention them incase I spoil the game for anyone but personally I dont think the game has a great deal to do with Akira (unless you want it to) even if you've seen the movie you'll just pass over the similiarities in story as Second Sight very much stands up on its own story.
For the largest part of the game I found there to be quite noticable differences in the way that you play the two different time periods past was about using your pshycic powers and stealth, you'll rarely find yourself heavily armed. The present upto a certain point in the game has you running around as part of a squad often taking the role of sniper - the way that the use of the guns and sniper rifles was implemented set this game apart from Psi Ops in my opinion. Free Radicals have a background of making FPS games and it shows in this game in how well they have implemented the weapons. The graphics also have that typical Free Radical look about them especially on the characters models overall though the difference between this and psi ops graphically is the models/environments are that little bit more detailed and have a crispness about them.
What I would say about this game is that you have to give it more than 10-20 minutes to really get into it, same went for psi ops. I played both of them briefly upon release and wrongly found them to be very plain/dull due to the earlier levels being a little basic, perserverance is key as after a couple of hours you'll unlock abilities that'll have you lifting people up with telekinesis and using them as shields, popping there heads like balloons, using invisibility, taking over peoples bodies and causing them to fire on their allies all have been done before but rarely have they been done as well as they have in this game.
Its only 730 megabytes as well (some demos arent far off that) so hard not to advise people to try it out, even if you think the game is lousy easy just to delete it and say oh well.

You probably have a device (HD or CDROM) that windows is trying to access on the 2nd IDE channel.
Try it without disabling ANY ide channels.
I got this to work fine just by following the instructions, and only disabling CD and then disabling Node. It runs fine for me without having to disable any ide chans.

But if I move the mouse the target keeps locked on the object A will I want to lockon to object B. When I stop pressing the rightmouse button and aim at B and press r mousebutton it still locks on to A.

I'm just wondering if there will be a release where one doesn't have to use these tools to get it working.

For good and promising new games there is a high chance for several releases, so if this is a good game there will be a release that make it easier for you i hope.
