id still never call it our national day, its the maoris day to complain about all the hundreds of millions of dollars that the nz people owe them. if theres one thing the maoris DONT want, its a single nation.
the whole thing pisses me off. the day celebrates the people of nz getting fucked over by the brits 
that being said, had a good day though. went out kayaking today round the coast near paremata... got out quite far and the mist rolled in.. shit you not, all around all i could see was white, couldnt even see land anymore hehehe. ships were coming out of the mist and passing me then disappearing again, it was incredibly surreal...

Happy National Day (Waitangi Day)!!! What great pictures. I love the detail in house like structure. Have to say beautiful art work. I believe some of the nicest tatoo's come out of that region?

the maori settled here just like the brits. yeah sure they were here first, but meh, the brits wanted it too.
but it turned out great for the maoris. theyre making out like bandits, making hundreds of millions of dollars on the backs of tax payers in 'reparations' for being civilized by the brits...and this is something thats always pissed me off. if they have a beef with what the brits did, the crown should be paying out, not nz'ers.
lovely country, but it fucking sucks how theres so much division here, and that will never change
im just glad that a dates been set to stop all this payout stuff, so we can be done with it once and for all, yet some how i doubt its going to happen. im sure there will still be payouts even after the end date. it'd be really cool if nz could just be one country that treats all equally, but sadly that will never happen
the whole thing is a huge fucking mess caused by the brits...its just a prime example of the shoddy way their country is and they shit they cause. if they wanted the land they should have fought for it and got it that way. either win and earn the land by wiping out or beating down those who have it, or give up and go home... this treaty shit just caused nothing but problems that will never EVER go away.

Yeah I know, the Dutch occupied a lot of countries as well. Actually I'm a descendent of the Dutch colonists that invaded Indonesia. Most of my relatives still think colonialism is pretty cool, but I think it's scary. What if the Chinese would invade and colonize Europe...? Brrr
