Doesn't sound much, I did 8 years of travelling every half year to Sweden to stay about 3 weeks (or a week more when a volcano erupted  ) and even then I didn't know the country much.
Her visiting every other half year to Belgium.
Other than superficially going: "It's nice over there". Living here, it kind of lost its shine it once had. Beautiful country, just it works rather poorly. :>
I do hope you know her longer than those couple of months though. :>
But yeah, bonus bullet deflection for being white in Murica.  |

It doesn't really matter where you live (refugees would argue that I'm wrong but y'all know what I mean), after a while when you've acclimatized it's not that different after all. Sure, superficial differences but ultimately you're moving from one group of people to another group of people and once you go native the "shine" and "excitement" is gone.

If you're white, have a certain degree of skill in one of the tech/science fields where there's a lack of employment it's rather easy.
