Gray Matter will be the first new title by the famous adventure author since the release of Gabriel Knight 3. Staying true to the Jensen-style, the story interweaves gruesome incidences and supernatural events.

Quote:
Neurobiologist Dr. David Styles is one of the main characters in the game. Ever since losing his wife in a terrible car accident many years ago, he has become a recluse, leaving his English mansion Dread Hill House only on rare occasions.

One day student and street artist Samantha Everett shows up on his door step unexpectedly, at a time Styles just happens to be looking for a new assistant. Sam gets the job. Originally from America, she has been travelling Europe for the last few years, so she could really use the money. Her first assignment involves finding six volunteers for an experiment planned by Dr. Styles at Oxford University.

The experiment begins harmless enough, but soon strange things start happening. Styles is visited by his beloved, but deceased wife. Now it is up to Sam to solve the mysteries of Dread Hill House.

In Gray Matter, the player takes control of Dr. David Styles as well as Samantha Everett as they are trying to unveil secrets and find the truth.

The artwork had me sold Very Happy
And while I didn't enjoy Gabriel Knight 3 (or 2 for that matter) as much as the first part the story was pretty good.
Looks interesting, will keep an eye on this.

I adored the GK series and the atmosphere in them....I used to be into adventures big time (especially all the legendary ones by Sierra) but over the years I lost my knack for em... this is something i am definitely gonna try out though.Jane Jensen and Roberta Williams knew how to make em i guess.

Me too!
I was absolutely stunned when I found out Jane had a new game on the cards, some of my fondest memories are of playing Gabriel Knight 1.
The story-telling and the research behind it was first class.

i remember in one of the games you have to use recorder to create the right sentece from voice mail or something like that and to use it as password to get into somewhere..was pretty smart and unique game back this days with the atmospher and that kind of ridles.
there were many quests , but this one was special in many aspects.

Wasn't it postponed till the early months of 2011? I believe February as a scheduled month?
And is the version coming out on Friday in Germany really English? I find that hard to believe since a great majority of quest/point'n'click games always comes first in German-speaking regions and some great deal of months later is released for the rest of the world.

I used Babelfish to translate the official Gray Matter press release: http://forum.dtp-entertainment.com/viewtopic.php?f=41&t=16888

"In both editions available in Germany, Austria and Switzerland Gray of matte as special Schmankerl both in German and in English language to be located contained. So Adventure fans have the possibility of playing also the English original version with the Jane Jensen personally clay/tone direction led."

So it seems the game ships this week in Germany with English. This would also make sense considering the XBOX 360 (PAL) version that leaked is in English. Plus since Jane is American the game was probably originally made in English --- honestly I don't have a clue why the hell this game isn't launching in the USA.

Ashok0, but there is also a possibility, that only Voice Overs are in English, no? And text is only German. It would be weird to release for them full english version in germany, when they postponed english release Smile

This is the Duke Nukem Forever of point'n'click games. It's been in the works since 2003. And it was announced way before that. This better be good now!
