I watched the trailer, and it still looks as dumb and mainstream and as bland as the first game. War for cybertron was so utterly white bread, hand on heart mw3 was innovative, creative and dynamic in comparison.
What’s more interesting here is that both Activision and Mercenary Games are willing to convert the game’s console controls to keyboard and mouse. This basically means that Mercenary might do as a good job with the port as Nixxes Software did with Deus Ex: Human Revolution.
As Livergood said:
“Our goal from the outset was to create a PC-centric experience. This is not just another console port.”
PC players will also be able to customize keybindings, which is a good thing, right?
Last but not least, Activision won’t be attaching any additional DRM to Fall of Cybertron.
Transformers: Fall of Cybertron is currently scheduled for an August 21st release on current generation consoles and PC!
...Developer High Moon says it’s the result of fans making their voices heard...
Isn't this perhaps the biggest problem in any game genre, listening to the fans? Fans say they want change, they get change and then they don't like it.
It's available as a pre-order on Steam now, probably not much to see aside from the suggested price (~50 Euro here.) and DLC offerings but I figured I should mention it.
Demo is also out on the X360 and possibly PS3 by now but I don't know anything about a PC demo, probably won't be one.
EDIT: And these two videos were posted in the other section for those wondering how the demo looks like.
VPN'ed that fucker. Last minute release date switch my arse.
? Fall of Cybertron was pushed from 28.8. to 21.8. actually...
Either way, mines still not available but through a VPN it is, so....
it was announced months ago that US will be avaiable tuesday and europe (and rest of the world probably) on friday. Steam fucked up something... like always.
Unlocked it, there are some settings and key bindings you can unlock but the video settings are mostly presets, can't tweak things manually for now since it's coded into one of those coalesced.ini file again, uses UE3 and it's not too bad if you liked the previous game.
(Textures are pretty sharp but there's a lot of post processing like bloom used.)
EDIT: Oh right, 60 FPS instead of 30 this time, UE3 frame smoothing or it would be even higher.
