ATI got much better since AMD owns it, before that all cards where crap. In the past i used a Radeon 9800XT (worste card i ever used) and it lagged in many games because it couldnt handle explosions, cloak etc. After that i decided to stick with Nvidia for a 2 years because i used those cards before i got the 9800XT from ATI. Back in June 2008 a person put his Asus Radeon 4870 512 MB card on the internet because he wanted the newest Nvidia Card GTX 260. I called him and said whats wrong with it ? he said nothing...i used it 4 days but nvidia came with a new card and wanted that one, i said what is the price and he said €140 euros (and in that time the card whas €240) i said ok i come and pick it up.
So far i had never 1 single problem with this card when it comes to explosions, cloak, shaders, shadows or game support (like it whas in the past). I am so happy with this card that i don't even think about a new card (and no i dont miss nvidia because i also had bad cards from them in the past.
My point is everyone puts a finger against ATI but ATI has better and faster cards then NVIDIA. They dominate the market since 2008 and NVIDIA doesnt come with a solution to that.
Does NVIDIA already have a Directx 11 card ? no
Also NVIDIA cards eat to much watt/power
