OK first of all in AUSTRALIA most cable internet ISP hav a dowlaod limit per month. I boight real hl2 via steam (silver pakge). The prob is that i cant dowlado the files for hl2 via steam casue people told me its about 8gigs in total! way over my dowlaod limit. Steam hav told me i can borrow my friend's cd/dvd and uplaod the files to my steam as long as i hav purchased hl2 , just anotehr way to get the files wihtout dling it. too bad none of my friends hav it yet my question: Has anyone here got the VENGANCE RETAIL DVD/CD Versions? On the vengance realeae do they inclide the GCF files? or do they hav the files fully extarcted? casue if the vengacne relases is like a retail realses with the gcfs, i can get it and use that gcfs! and best of all their versiob is only 2.5 gigs! casue its been compressed. can someone who owns retail tell me how big exactly is the gcf file is? thns

Getting that game over steam isn't 8 gb. Its more like 2,5 gb. So if thats your worry, don't. Smile

So can u guys confirm that the size of hl2 via steam is 2.5gigs? Are u sure the Vengance relases dont have the cgf files on it? FROM THE NFO " This installer will automatically rename needed GCF files in the SteamApps directory on your HDD (which is normally done by STEAM when installing with an active internet connection). "

I'm downloading HL2 through steam right now, it only downloaded 1.1 gig so far (5 minutes to finish). I think it will download more for cs:s.
