I follow the instructions of NFO by VENGEANCE (Half-Life2 -5cd) but when i try to run hl2install.exe it will say : "Failed To Startup Steam" !!
But I have Steam installed then WTF???????

perhaps there is a shortcut for running the game as in the AHU release?

this error comes up if you havent installed the release first
done that?
the steam emu needs the .gcf files (which are there after the install)
