Last King of Africa, an adventure created by lauded Syberia mastermind Benoît Sokal, is coming to iPhone and iPod touch.
Originally released for Nintendo DS, the modern day adventure is being broken up into three episodes for release on the App Store by publisher Bulkypix.
The game follows Ann Smith, daughter of the last king of Maurania, who crash lands in a city controlled by a rival faction. After waking up in a mysterious palace, charting a course to her dying father is your paramount goal.
With the adventure genre experiencing a touch-enabled renaissance, Last King of Africa could forward the movement by addressing control and interface issues that surfaced on DS version to make iPhone and iPod touch the definitive play.
Of course, modifications to the interface have been made due to the single display and to account for use of fingers instead of a stylus.
Bulkypix plans on releasing one episode per month beginning in April, promising approximately 3 hours of gameplay at £1.79/$2.99 or €2.39 apiece.
An iPad-optimised version is being considered, though it hasn't been finalised.
