Well it DOES suck in some respects; my little brother's (still lives with the folks) computer is connected to the internet via a WLAN usb stick, and practically all MP games are unplayable since every 60 seconds Windows searches for new wireless networks to connect to, which results in lag spikes (and more often than not getting booted from the server).
In XP you could disable the service, but in Vista and 7 doing that disables the existing network connection too. Doing a google search on the issue has loads of results but of course MS hasn't bothered to fix the issue at all.

MS would include support if they legally could. I guess they could bundle Adobe Reader, but they're not going to do that.
Building support for .PDF will get them in trouble with competition regulators etc.etc.etc.etc.

end of the day OSX has less problems than windows and any problems that do arise get fixed in a few days, whereas microsoft take ages. You cant argue nor deny that fact since youve all experienced it, right?
I just cant believe in 2010 an OS doesnt support PDF viewing out the box. You can unzip shit easily so why not PDF? almost all OS's do this besides windows. Stupid...
Regardless of me being a macfag or not, this is shit.

I would call it even more shit if an OS in 2010 doesn't come with a web browser but MS got sued just because they did include Internet Explorer.
If you want to compare problems, you should compare problems in relation to possible hardware configurations.
Guess what, I have a console that never had any problems related to the OS. Does this proove that it's more sophisticated then Windows or MacOS?
Acutally, I'm amazed that Apple even manages to code any errors into their OS considering they only offer it on six differrent hardware configurations each year. I would expect MacOS to work as flawless as a console OS.

I hate all adobe products. Use Foxit for PDF files. Yes, it takes about 1 minute to install, but its well worth it. Due to licensing issues, Microsoft cant install everything for you.
However, Windows 7 did come with all the DIVX/XVID codecs! Yeah!! So you can save a minute off your life..Now you are even!

No, I have to disappoint you, any problems I had since XP was 3rd party related, MS had nothing to do with them.

Until Apple doesn't get sued for including stuff MS can't include in Windows, I think you should really STFU and pray day and night that lawyers and politicians never find out that:
1. The so called "Mac" is a computer,
2. It has an OS,
3. It is not regulated.
I seriously hope you didn't get a heart attack from the fact that you even had to install FlashPlayer and JAVA. (Sorry if you didn't realize it yet!)
BTW there are install discs with slipstreamed sw, made by enthusiasts for whiners like you.

Hmm, let's see:
Quote: | Things OS X Cannot Do
- Right Click to Create Text Files: You have to open TextEdit, create a file, navigate to the right folder, and save as…just to create a stupid file.
- Set a picture as background: You certainly cannot select a picture in finder to set it as background. No app in OS X lets you do that. You have to use go through a long series of clicks in desktop background settings and manually find your file. The only other way is to open your image file in firefox and set as background, but having to open a a image from a browser to set it as background is lame.
- Choose entire folders to be wallpapers: You can add a folder, but SUBFOLDERS ARE NOT INCLUDED. That means you can’t manually organize your wallpapesr. Again, iPhoto is useless for anything but photos, so unless all your wallpapers are photos, don’t expect iPhoto to be a solution.
- Merging folders: (See a comment below for why you need to do this) When you copy a folder, if the new location contains a folder of the same name, there is no way to merge the folders. Instead, Finder overwrites the original folder with the new one. All files in the original folder are lost. The only way to get around this is to use the unix mv -v command….very user unfriendly design.
Trash is Broken:
- Cannot selectively delete trash: There is no way to delete one or several items in trash at a time. (useful when you want to double check the items one at a time before you actually delete them). You can only empty all the trash at once.
- Cannot restore trash: If you accidentally moved something to trash by accident, there is no option to restore the file to its original location. You have to remember where it was. Why do you even need trash if you can’t even restore what you deleted to where it was? If you accidentally deleted a file buried deep in the filesystem, does it make sense to drag it back to….for example…Desktop??
Finder is Broken
- There is no cut: There is no "cut" option like in all other OS. So to move a file you have navigate to the destination in a separate Finder window and drag to it, or drag while navigating in the same Finder window through many folders and hope you don’t miss.
- Can’t calculate total size: When you select some files in a folder and right click -> Get Info to find the total size, Finder displays a box for EACH item with the individual sizes.

Apple must've fixed most of these by now, right?
UNLESS... Apple lists these as features.

Does microsoft really get away with this shit? |
You spent TWENTY minutes "perplexed" over such a trivial thing?! When it would have taken you about ninety fucking seconds to download and install either Adobe Reader, or way better yet, Foxit Reader!
"Does microsoft really get away with this shit?"
ARE YOU FUCKING TRYING TO BE IGNORANT?! It has already been explained in this thread why there are no PDF-reader included, but fuck me, "get away with this shit". Seriously, this is grasping at tiny straws at best, and there even is a logical fucking explanation to it.
And regardless of what you think, I'm not posting this just because it's you or any other macfag, I do it because this thread is really fucking ridiculous. The problem inz mentioned would be a very legit thing to complain about, and I sure hope they get that shit sorted asap. That's actually M$' fault.
Also, I think me7 made a very good point in his thread IMO.

We need a new crusade against macfags, we shall nail them to windows along the road and hail at the superior windows race. Macs cant do shit, this is why they have less problems. Its like comparing a hammer to an international space station. The simpler it is, the easier it is to
make it work.

first of all half those "problems" are totally irrelevant and just differences between operating systems, and / or false. For a start you can cut files in finder easily, you just click Edit > Cut? since when was that a "fault" because the shortcuts are different?
Also, give me a scenario where you ever need delete items in the trash individually? :s why would it need to be there, its trash, you deleted it from my documents or whatever, you wouldnt need to go into trash and delete certain objects but leave others there Thats like using Trash as My Documents is it not? keeping files in there?
I dont know what version of OSX those "issues" where recorded from but I can set images as background just fine.. it functions just how it would in all browsers the only difference being to set one of your own images you have to right click on the desktop and click "background" then select your image from the add image option, thats 2 clicks, how is that a long list of clicks and menus
Deleted something to trash by accident? oops! Edit > undo. That hard.

That is a feature of windows they probably just didnt think to copy. In case you havent noticed, windows 7 completely rips from OSX including its visual style. Again, so you have to open text edit to open a text file, seems pretty logical to me.
Try and give me some real 'user unfriendly' issues that arent totally out of the box and stupid like that list. Oh wait! you cant, just like the writer of those issues couldnt
I come from a windows background of 20 + years, I used it for ages before I used mac..
