Is it possible to get rid of any pending app updates from the Appstore that appear next to the Appstore icon on the springboard? If not can they be disabled in some way? Maybe there is a Cydia app that could do this?

Just hide the Appstore icon with SBSettings

Today I didn't even need to use my AK. I gotta say it was a good day. (c) - Ice Cube
