Crytek developers showed new pics of their enhanced graphics engine in some german tv show... It's a tech demo.
The pics are made with newest 1.3 patch, which adds shader 3.0 and enhances the engine with other stuff as well. Note that you won't get these graphics simply by installing the patch, you'd have to mod the game (new textures, add new shaders etc). But in theory, these are the graphics you could get with patch 1.3. Crytek said they might add these newer features by default in one of their next patches, though it would be pretty huge due to new replaced textures and all.

I can't remember any of those scenes from the game. There was never a point where they had one of those invisible guys tied down, and those suits were not in the game either.
I'll believe it when I see someone running it.
Also, why does it have the ATI logo on those screens, I thought PS3.0 was an Nvidia only gimmick.

If I remember well they're taken from a technological demo of the new ATI card (X850)...

It shows off the potential of patch 1.3 ...
and yeah, its from the new x800 which comes at the end of the year with enhanced shader 1.3.
Geforce 6800 etc should be able to render this as well.

Them this is nicer then doom3, I hope they will release 1.3 with new textures and all the other stuff needed.
Maybe ill buy it then, since ive bought a new 3d card after far cry and havent played it yet.

check the chest, you cant say that looks good. and the 6800 out of date?  ATI have fired all their rifles. wait for the new nvidia drivers and im sure they'll raise benchmarks.

very impressive stuff. Far Cry really impressed me when I first played it... this sort of addition would make it worth playing through again... It's really making the debate for the 8ft projector seem very... plausible.
