Can an account be used by 2 different persons?
1 Login = 2 Users ( 2 ips )

Yes. Not sure you can use it simultaneously though.

Actually it's forbidden. Shouldn't be a problem though if you both use the same ISP and come from the same region if you have dynamic IPs. Just try to not download at the same moment.

3 is a problem esp if you dl simultaneously, but 2 is ok if not simultaneously...

I've shared a rapidshare account (borrowed is a better term since she paid for it) many times.

keep it below 5 different IPs, above that your account gets locked with a warning email.

not really. I've downloaded maybe 3-4 passworded releases in the last year, and never a virus.
the only complaint I have about usenet is all the german releases but they are clearly labelled as such. it's more of a "ooohhh I wish that was in english instead!" type of complaint.

again, as has been mentioned about a million times before, if you actually cared just the first .rar will tell you if it's passworded or not.

To my experience, as long as the various ips are from the same region it's ok. But as soon as I downloaded a SINGLE file from a remote shell which was located in France, they blocked my account and I had to contact customer service to have it restored.

The owner had a UK IP, I had a Swedish IP, no problems using the same account (as long as we didn't use it simultaneously).

What a coincidence... today my rapidshare account got locked by rapidshare for multi account usage. well at least they just send me another password so that I could log in and use it again. Well, will tell my friends that they shouldn't download with it for a while

Rapidshare and most hosting sites all the way! Was a usenet user for a decade then last year bought my first yearly Rapidshare account and it makes torrents and usenet look by-gone era. Hosting sites like rapidshare are clearly superior to anything out there for so many reasons its not funny.

Don't get me wrong: torrents are still real useful, free, but dog slow depending how old they are and # of seeders. ie. had to re-get some corrupt Dr.Who episodes since the ones on rapidshare and other host sites were still not working correctly. Use torrent to scan a few offerings and eventually found corrected mkv files as all ones recorded in avi were screwy. Re-encoded using latest SUPER and presto -- all good.
So torrents are a real good backup but for 99% of my downloading rapidshare and others are incredible. I'd use megashares and others if I saw the need but honestly rapidshare has everyone's attention on all the boards that offer hosted links. Until they move to another host on mass then its rapidshare for now.
