And the problem I explained there went away. Now it's back, and for no apparent fucking reason at all.
And it doesn't just affect MW2, but since it's almost the only game I've got installed, I'm using at as reference.
Game is sluggish, slowed down, audio is also slowed down, stretched out, crackling a bit.
If I look down into the ground, it stops lagging, but whenever i look up, it starts again.
Latest nVidia drivers now, same deal. Tested very low graphics settings in-game. Most options in the nVidia Control Panel is set to Application-controlled (atleast the necessary ones like AA/AF etc)
I've ran Malwarebytes Anti-Malware, MS Security Essentials, and nothing is infected.
Also CCleaner, cleaned up any registry errors.
I've termintated all unnecessary services in the Task Manager that I can think of that's not needed.
Even when booting, the first milliseconds of the "Welcome to Windows"-sound is crackling a bit. I've checked the affinity, both cores enabled too.
This is really fucking aggravating, can someone help me before i tear my fucking eyes out
Watercooled 5950X | AORUS Master X570 | Asus RTX 3090 TUF Gaming OC | 64Gb RAM | 1Tb 970 Evo Plus + 2Tb 660p | etc etc
test disabled or enabled hardware acceleration in the flash player settings
Edit: the flash player itself is a bit strange
with my old 8600 GT I did not have playback performance problems
with my new HD 5770 I got some troubles and disabling the hardware acc. helped
Yeah ok , so it's a sound prb !
Got this too when i changed my gfx card .
I don't realy know how it work but problems are linked to onboard sound.
when pc freeze ( BFCF2 for example ) , after a reboot , i've got exactly the same issues.
So, what i do > desinstall Sound driver / reinstall .
And : For my Mobo ( P5K asus ) , i resintall JMICRON drivers too ( knows issues)
Sometime it's work after the first reboot , sometime i need to repeat step again .

I know when i got this "lag" with a simple test : i launch a mp3 song, i open few MOzilla tabs ( or scrolling up and down on a heavy loading page ) who result a "sound lag" , then same on GAME.

That's great knowledge, thanks!

u'r welcome ( and i'm a bit late ), it took me an age to understand this problem ( many W7 format; reinstalling everything to... etc etc ) and this problem appeared again randomly
I don't totaly get it ( the fix / the relation between lag and sound , then step to fix it ) but it's work , and this is enought to make me happy
Yep, most of time, the South Bridge handles data from the PCI slots and can also have integrated components( as audio onboard chip for example )
edit : so i think that we got it
Northbridge connects to the elements that require speed; RAM and PCI-E slots. Anything integrated goes through the southbridge; that includes IGP, SATA controllers, audio chips, network chips, you name it
