So I thought it would be a nice idea to get a list of useful freeware that's out there in internet land.

If you use any sort of freeware and you find it useful post a link and a brief description, would love to see what I'm missing out on ( can be anything ).

Here's a few I couldn't imagine living without:

Defraggler (Defrag Software):
http://www.piriform.com/defraggler

Grabit (Usenet Downloading):

Angry IP (Local network ip scanner)

That one is brilliant, been using it as a notepad replacement for years. Not even remotely as heavy as for instance UltraEdit, yet powerful enough to do most normal and semi-advanced tasks.

Wow, thank you for mentioning GIMP, this one is fucking awesome. Can't believe I never heard of it before. Real nice alternative to PS.

Here a really great web based image editor that I've been using for a few months.

Probably some of you don't know it. It's very useful for adsl and other slow connection users.

It's not freeware but with registry trick it's : )

Cfosspeed. A network driver which lets you use your full upload and download speed simultaneously. Try it. Get the latest 5.10/11beta.

I forgot to tell that cfosspeed has a 'favour ping time' mode which decreases your pings. For online gaming it's the bees knees. You can browse the net with your full speed and lowest pings possible whilst uploading/downloading with max speed.
