I've had it with this shit every game nowadays looks exactly the same, feels the same and it's SHIT
same brown post processing, same purple'ish blue on dark corners, same HDR effects AND THE MOTHER FUCKING textures, OMG the texture pop up, and when they do they're blurry shit
wtf
only games that have used it well are ME & Mirror's edge, the rest are the same looking same feeling crap and I'm FUCKING SICK OF IT
The UE3 has a great potential, and the problem you've just pointed out is due to the fact that devs are mainly too lazy to properly implement it. Leo or JB surely will be more specific, but I can assure you that recent games like (for example) Alpha Protocol or Singularity are based on a very old build of UE3, with the consequent lack of all the necessary optimizations (both visually and performance wise) present in ME2, which is powered by the UE 3.5.
edit: Look at what the latest UDK (Unreal developement kit) is capable of:
Alpha Protocol looks like it baked on the lowest settings .. I love the UDK though, it's power as superman's balls, but also easy just to let it automate half of everything.
well what I'm tired of is lazy ass devs using default shit and not working on anything, make models, maps, textures and everything else is automated
fuck this shit
a decent engine Ive seen lately is that of Bound in blood, shit's amazing and runs good
I was talking with a friend the other day and was thinking that I'd like to see a return of some AAA 2.5D games, where all of the backgrounds are pre-rendered beautiful art.. instead of terribly textured models, or models that get chopped down to half of what they should look like just to cut down render times..etc..

yup both games where made in UE2,3 or 2,4 with some custom shit just like Bioshit 2 that was made in UE2 custom build same with SC:Conviction that was UE2 with some custom shader
the only games that showed how good UE3 games are if hey are done right and REALLY USED UE3 engine not some ghetto hacked UE2 version are:
Frontlines: Fuel of War
Fairytale Fights
Mirror's Edge
50 Cent: Blood on the Sand
Batman: Arkham Asylum
Borderlands
Mass Effect 2
seeing that Ue3 was made in 2006 this list is just pathetic and now we are on UE 3,5 and the only game made on it in ME2
@iNatanixigia
funny very funey ...
but thats the whole list of games that look good in UE3 , every press guy will tell you same
and Leo if you would follow 3d shooters like i do you would knew that this game was called Tango Black a techo-political triller about russians stealing a nuke and two commandos going after them... but after Activision merged with Vivendi this game was in the void ... Thq seeing how Swordfish studio was desperate for money with bankruptcy , they picked it but only with one condition make it the next 50 cent game... so they scrapped the Tango models and replaced them with the G-unit added nigga music and some diamond scull story and thats it
