Possibly the greatest martial arts movie I've ever watched. Not the most original plotline, but if you want to see some amazing fighting and acrobatics, this is a movie you shouldn't miss. Anyone who can do a sliding split under a car is ok in my book Razz Anyone have any other recommendations for good martial arts movies like this? Crouching Tiger/Hero - esque movies are OK, and doing the flying stuff actually does take amazing acrobatics, but it just loses any realism and gets on my nerves... So basically let me know of any straight up fight movies that show... more realistic fighting Razz

Check out Hero. I do personally not like any fantasy fighting game like Crouching tiger hidden dragon etc. Gonna check out Ong-Bak.

DVD is already out with english subtitles, but it's coming to american theatre soon, there is a trailer on quicktime.com, that's how I heard about it... I think the rip out there is by MHK, at least the one I watched, not scene I think tho, it had ogg music for some reason..

I fell into the hype of this movie when a friend who recommended me zatoichi recommended ong bak. So naturally I watched and well it has nice fighting sequences... nice fighting sequences... nice fighting sequences... all multiplied by three Laughing pissed me off. Why the fuck do I want to see a guy sliding under a moving care three fucking times? This movie is more of a showcase of what the actor can do. And it is very impressive just not something you'd want to watch over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over again. Jet Li fist of legend is cool though Razz But, sadly I managed to watch the dubbed version of fist of legend but it was still cool Smile

A lot of old Jackie Chan movies... Donny Yen (legend of the iron monkey is awesome) hmm who else? Jet Li of course. Just go on imdb and look for movies prior their north American stardom Very Happy Heh I’d recommend Chow Yeun Fat because he’s my personal favorite but I don’t think he does such movies like fist of legend. But his first north American movie was a joy to watch Wink

Yeah i loved drunken master, iron monkey and so on, jackie chans fun to watch Razz his martial arts seem a little less impressive than tommy jaas or jet li's tho. (bruce lee is in a category above the rest so i wont bother mentioning him hehe)

God all those chinese crap SUCK big time (The unrealistic fighting ones).
Whats the fun watching 2 guys beating up a whole army ? People flying all over the place, running on walls, WTF?!
We had enough of that in Matrix, i think they should stop making those kind of movies.

About Hitman: Movie (2007)
Vin Diesel is a hardcore gamer, and absolutely loves the Hitman series. For that reason I have faith that he wont destroy the movie.

Response: Well, Uwe Boll probably loved the Alone in the Dark games.

Yeah, they are a pain like that, but I find for the most part that they have impressive story lines that hold up the poor realism, making them good movies, albeit not the most entertaining martial arts flicks.

toeffy: of course! Smile although I should probably have been working on my 10 page paper due tomorrow Razz but oh well hehe.

well guess where the matrix stole their ass of.

these movie have a big tradition since the moves come from chinese myth and the peking opera. it's asian culture...

what you said is like saying "stop those marvel comic movies" their all the same unrealistic crap...noone can mutate that nicely.
