Quote: | If you've been following Gamespot's E3 coverage, you may of looked at their hexagonal floor map. If you look at it, you can hover over it and see which games publishers and developers will be showing off this year at E3.
As you can see from above, they have revealed - accidentally we imagine - that Dead or Alive 5 will be shown off here. Of course, we knew nothing of the game before hand, so take this as the announcement.
Furthermore, if you go over to EA's booth, you'll happily see that they'll be showing off Mass Effect.

They use the same tech (?) and it's a continuation of an existing storyline, so a release shouldn't take that long.

its not that ME3 is really a secret... it is even referenced in the loadingscreens of ME2. An announcement is highly to be expected at E3.

a shitty 1 hour dlc, you mean! Bioware really sucks at DLC.

Well without knowing where gamespot got this information, it's hard to say what's it about really.
It just lists Mass Effect 3 as one of the featured games at EA booth on their site. I suppose if it's official info from EA it has to be ME3. DA2 is listed as well.
Edit: Ubisoft has I am Alive listed, I haven't heard much about this game for a while now. It could be just speculation on gamespot's part. I guess we'll have to wait and see.

if the gap from ME1 to ME2 is any indication we'll see a release in Q1 2012.
I'd expect them to put more effort into this final game because..well..it's the final game.
So I wouldn't be surprised if we'll have to wait until Q4 2012.

IIRC, it's supposed to be released early 2011.

I decided that regarding Mass Effect, I don't give a fuck it's EA.
Though I fear they are gonna end it with part 3 (then again, not if EA has some say in it I guess, which might not be that good a thing)
btw. July 27th. Mass Effect Retribution by Drew Karpyshyn is released that day. Hope it's as entertaining and sort of "informative" (regarding the universe, and races) like the other 2 books.

Early 2011 seems kinda...early for ME3. I'd place it in Q4 2011 at best. But I wouldn't really know, since they haven't announced anything at all regarding ME3 yet.
On another note, Colonial Marines is listed at the Sega booth. Makes me wonder again if those lists are official.

well... perhaps 2011 is reasonable... they just package the first quarter of the game, then charge you 3 games worth of dlc to get the 'bonus' content that 'expands' on the story

So far the lists actually aren't that impressive (for PC gamers that is) with a few exceptions.
Like Dragon Age 2, Dead Space 2, ME3.
We'll see what comes of it.

It makes perfect sense if it is released early next year. Think about it. The UT3 engine is showing its age now and Bioware themselves know about it and are essentially tweaking an engine which is more than half a decade old. Since most of the assets are already there, it should not take as long as ME2 did. I, for one, am excited!!
1 and 2 are still amazing.

The assets were there with ME1 already, but they still updated it and completely redesigned the gameplay. It still depends on how much they intend to change with ME3, and as there were no announcements, it's hard to make any kind of assumptions.

Because E3 isn't about PC games, you see. it's in America. Majority of American gaming audience don't know what the PC is for, except for Facebuch.

I just didn't want to list the console games which are (since I'm a console gamer as well) interesting to me as well

http://www.joystiq.com/2010/12/10/mass-effect-3-outed-on-ea-store/
Description:
Quote: | Earth is burning. Striking from beyond known space, a race of terrifying machines have begun their destruction of the human race. As Commander Shepard, an Alliance Marine, your only hope for saving mankind is to rally the civilizations of the galaxy and launch one final mission to take back the Earth. |
I think it's safe to say now that the Spike VGA announcement is 99.9% Mass Effect 3 so I'm posting it here instead of that thread.
edit Oh, and the PC price was listed 60$ as the console versions

" " is indeed a very appropriate emoticon for this news, not to mention the fact that 60$ will probably become 60€.
