no ive had one similiar thing happen when instantly connecting net back on a fresh install of xp once, it was due to cruddy release full of shit probably, as nothing happened till the net was established..

Either way no excuse for not using win7, post the hardware you got driver issues with and everyone here will soon tell u if its supported or not.. ive had zero issues with win7 even on an ancient pc.

XP with no service packs will get virus very fast if you connect to internet. No need to even open browser, virus comes to you.

Thats what you get with MS shit.

Install SP1/2/3 before connecting to internet, to avoid taking it up the backdoor in biggest gay ever.
