|
 |
So I'm going to inherit my father's Dell Latitude D630.
Thing is, the battery need to be changed.
I'm not quite familiar with this battery thingy, but there's a big price difference between the batteries with 4 cells, 6, 9 etc...
Until now it had a stock battery of 4 cells, which died after year and a half.
I'm not feeling like spending much money on a fancy battery, so what do you guys recommend in terms of price/value?

More cells = Longer battery life, i.e. the longer it can run off the battery before needing to be plugged in
If you're planning to use it running off the battery a lot, I'd suggest going for 6 at the least.

A lot of times tho the larger cell batteries "stick out" of the bottom of the laptop (which i can't stand). And most lithium ion batteries are good for 3 years max. Even if you have it on the shelf for 2 of those years. After that, it's time to buy a new one and recycle the old one.
