Quote:
Apache: Air Assault is an upcoming combat flight simulator video game for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. It is being developed by Russian developer Gaijin Entertainment and will be published by Activision. Release date - November 18 2010.

The game is a combat flight simulator where players may pilot several types of Apache attack helicopters. The primary goal of most missions is to stop terrorist attacks in volatile war-ravaged regions.

The main web page for the game shows several different aircraft including A-10's and drones. However developers have commented that these aircraft will not be playable in the game.

Aircraft flyable in the Campaign:

* Agusta Westland AH Mk 1 Apache
* Boeing AH-64D Longbow Apache

Aircraft flyable in Free Flight:

* Agusta Westland AH Mk 1 Apache
* Boeing AH-64D Longbow Apache
* Northrop Grumman MQ-8B Fire Scout
* Mil Mi-35 Hind

Apache will support local and online multiplayer. During the local multiplayer, two players can play on the same console as pilot and gunner in one helicopter.

Online multiplayer will only allow co-op missions where each player pilots their own helicopter up to a maximum of four players.

*16 SP missions
*13 MP missions
* 2-player co-op

Demo out, loved it.

Demo gameplay vid (with funny comments from fellow frenchmen): Very Happy

Only played the demo briefly, but yeah it seemed like a good game. Was surprised as I've not heard of it until it showed up online as a demo. Has a good 'feel' to it, not simulation, but not completely arcade like HAWK. The touch sensitive zoom controls are a nice touch too (Razz) since most developers ignore range of motion possible.

Looking forward to trying the full game, especially online.

Yep, really liked the second mission where you have to defend a Black Hawk crash site via cannon&FLIR (hello again MW).

Today I didn't even need to use my AK. I gotta say it was a good day. (c) - Ice Cube

They should make the helicopter bits in Black Ops into a full game. They were awesome!

May the NFOrce be with you always.

This game's nothing like that, though. The CoD BO stuff had you pretty much on rails.

Tried the demo, didn't really enjoyed it. Shame.

I actually enjoyed the demo more than COD's helo sequences. They'd become boring real quick if it was a separate game. Come on, you're barely doing anything there. Not a challenge even on vet.

Yes, it is. And there's also some new trends like controlling the gun in FLIR mode as in Modern Warfare.
