If this is true it wouldn't surprise me considering what happened with FF13.
I'd rather just have some information on the actual game though... it's been announced so long ago but there's like nothing out there about the gameplay.

I think it's gonna be some actionrpg thingy, but yeah there might not have been an official announcement yet.
hopefully it won't be as bad as crisis core or dirge of cerberus....

I agree somewhat there, sabin.
I don't want a fighting game like dissidia, but I do think that dissidia battles are fucking awesome.. so maybe they could make a game a little bit like crisis core (world to run around in and stuff) or ordinary FFs, but make the combat similar to dissidia (very action heavy, tactical, but not nearly as simple as crisis core)
that'd be pretty sweet I think.

Now see here, sir! That's just crazy talk! Crisis Core is great fun and Dirge of Cerberus was too. They're not true FF games, but they're still fun in their own right.

Hmm you think?
I thought Crisis Core was pretty bad. The random element to the battles was outrageous and the battles themselves were too simplistic for my taste. the story also didn't pull me in eventhough I'm a huge FF7 fan.
It just felt like they just tried to come up with some random stuff to put before FF7 and it didn't feel relevant for some reason.
... and dirge of cerberus just felt very unpolished and weird, but I admit I didn't try too hard with that one.
maybe I should give them another try some day...

The random stuff to battles was a royal PITA .. but then, I just went melee most the time and never really had any trouble in the game, except for a few bosses and 5* missions. I liked that it explored more of Zack's backstory, rather than just another Cloud world. As for Dirge? I just played it like it was; a TPS A.RPG with Final Fantasy themes - and that, too, explored more of the backstory.
Of course they're not amazing games and they're certainly not Final Fantasy (any more than the horrid FF Tactics was) but they were fun for a bit of mindless FF fun with more story.

wait.. what? ps2 game? are you mistaking the psp footage of agito for versus? because it doesn't look anything like a ps2 game and it's not a small box either.
versus gameplay starts at 55 seconds in that video.

For me, no.
But I know plenty like the other enix and quare games, where as generally I only enjoy their old FF games.

final fantasy 13 itself, as well as both versus and agito are part of the fabula nova crystallis collection. they don't continue the same story, but they all share basic story elements and play in the same world, but at different times (maybe there's some relations to what happened or will happen in other games).

So, 9000 years after they announced it, they're finally looking for a game / battle PLANNER? Good. We might actually get to play the game by the end of this millennium.
That's a lot more shocking than the x360 "speculation".
Let's wait for their programmer job listings in 2020.

the games of the fabula nova crystalis collection which are FF13, Versus 13, and Type-0 do not play in the same world (or at least not in the same time) but have common themes (crystals?). that's all.
so maybe this is the very same world that you see in ff13 but thousands of years later/earlier. could be anything.
