Music is going worse and worse by the minute, I predict in a few years, everyone will discard any kind of instrumental music and all that is produced will be a bunch of people talking about sex and whatnot.
We are very close to that already, people are just so stupid!
Anyway here's for some real music detox!

No no no, I was talking about the first video, the one with...ehm..the girl
The music you posted is absolutely epic (I already knew the Darkest Hour), so no corruption in my NFOrce =)

(Anyway, pretty much every single song from them is a masterpiece, sadly they are not very widely known)

Thank you, I haven't had heard them before, but I guess it's time to expand my music culture . As you probably already know, Italy is actually (but let me say, it has always been) the crate of dreadful quality music, and the process of global indumbment is only making things exponentially worse, so it's always fine to discover some proper group who still bothers with real music.
These are even more retarded the the music in first post.
Like ixigia said, what music in the first post?
Anyway, for anyone who understands real music, you will see that the melodic and rhythmic complexity of the song is very similar to genres such as classical music or jazz, the emotional sense of empowerment that metal delivers is not however found very often in those two other genres.
What you probably don't like is all the screaming vocals, but one kind of grows into enjoying it, that's one the more reason it is so complex, it was never meant to be easy listening music like all popular stuff is, the instrumental part of any pop song can be done by a 12 year old kid with 20 minutes on his computer.
The melodic orchestration of metal takes a very long time to write and more even to learn how to dominate those instruments with such a flawless detail!
You might not personally enjoy it, but as intelligent as you are, you cannot take the credibility of it away just because of your personal response towards it!

@Leo
Thank you!
You have never been to Portugal have you?
In Portugal music quality is stricly measured by how much does it sell and how popular it is!
People actively refuse to even hear any non popular music because as they say "if I haven't heard about it, it can't be worth my time"
So you see, the idiocracy is everywhere!

Oh please, I refuse to believe that you're secretly that retarded
@Rohnrin
Keep it up! We seem to share the exact same viewpoint on todays music scene.
Not to say metal is not corrupted also, most mainstream popular metal is absolute garbage, dumbed down enough for the masses to say "yeah, I listen to metal, I'm cool" and then when they say what band or songs they enjoy, you come to realize it's all the same simplistic repetitive crap that the whole of pop music is, only this time it has some guitar and bass distortion...
The world of music is doomed, however there are still some musical gems in some places of the world that still understand the meaning of true music!
And yes, most of them play metal for one simple reason, because it is the ONLY worthy competitor to classical music.
@iNatan: are you aware that if most of the great composers like Beethoven, Bach and so forth, were alive today, they would very likely be either writers or players in a Melodic Death Metal band?
When you discard all the screaming and death themes (which btw not all bands follow), when you start listening and feeling the rhythmic texture of most great Metal bands, you will perceive a startling similarity to the texture of most Classical masterpieces, and I'm not talking about a copy paste job like the whole of popular music than when you listen to it, most of them are playing the same riffs in a different manner, no, what you notice in Metal, Melodic Death Metal in particular, mostly Swedish or Japanese bands is that they create melodies that are probably more complex that most Classical songs, but instead of having only one or two instruments playing the lead structure and every other instrument just following along, what you have in Metal is a sort of mix between Classical music and Jazz where most instruments are playing a distinct melodic structure while at the same time contributing to an overall different music texture and the delivery of a emotional state of empowerment that you can't find anywhere else.
Most people associate Metal with rebellious headbangers, and while this is the case with practically all commercial Metal out there, most underground Metal genres like Melodic Death Metal, Technical Death Metal, some cases of Black Metal and Power Metal or even Avant Gard Metal can only be accurately described as Erudite Music, because if you consider what Erudite music is supposed to be, those Metal genres fit on that description completely!

I see no reason why I should be discarding or disregarding portions just to find some mediocre core that might be better than the rest.

That's a good joke. As if there is a lack of orchestra music today.

Yes there is, but that's my point exactly, when you listen to the texture of their Classical Works, you will see what they were trying to accomplished but lacked the tecnhical capabilities at the time, unlike now, most orchestra music of today is a mere copy of what has been done before, most of what is done new today fails in comparison with what we have grown to think of real Classical Music.
The greatest classical composers had a vision in their minds and translated them into reality with the tools they had at the time, if they had the tools that they had now I can with great certainty assure you that 90%+ of them would play in some kind of Metal or Rock Band.
And I don't listen do Death Metal Exclusively, I enjoy many classical and orchestrated works out there, good video game music is an excellent example of what I do love.
I have some very few bands and songs from decades past that I do love, like Queen for example, I even like some electronic music, Infected Mushroom being a great reference.
But the great majority of popular music I just can't stand, I can't stand anything remotely closed to hip hop, rap, dance music, R&B, and all 99.999% of what streams on most radios and tv networks.
In terms of musical technical excellence, nothing comes close to Melodic Death Metal, hence being my favorite genre, but most of the times I listen to many of the genres that I just described above, there are times when I listen exclusively to video game or general orchastrated music.
Depends on my mood obviously, I just can't stand any of that simplistic crap that everyone else likes, because that isn't even music!!

@Ronhrin
But why do you always speak to me about popular music? I haven't listened to that shit in years, outside of movies which insist on putting some songs in the soundtrack. I just don't like metal and rock.
Just please don't insult great composers by putting them in the same category as "YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH" shit.

But that's it!!
You are focused on the stereotype instead of in the real thing!
I hate Trash Metal, which is the accurate description to "YEAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH" as you've just referred to it.
The rest is just stereotyped by the people into being all the same, which it isn't, comparing Melodic Death Metal with any other genre of popular Metal is as much ridiculous as comparing Queen with any other average Rock Band.

I hear nothing redeeming of what you'd have me convinced is comparable to classic or orchestral music. I mean, perhaps if I hit "mute" and close my eyes and pretend to be a deaf in an orchestra, I might see the resemblance.
Bashing on an electric guitar and banging on drums is hardly worthy of admiration.
And in this:
Has exactly the retarded "WUUAAAHA AAAAAH" yelling I despise. Where is the melodic value in that?
Now, these are videos you posted, supposedly good, not the "stereotypical" metal you supposedly hate.

Haha, another bullseye - that's also why it's somewhat hard to find good NEW artists - it's far from impossible, but 8 out of 10 bands i find sound EXACTLY like the last 5 years in the "metal and hard-/death-/metalcore" scene, and that isn't neccessarily bad thing by itself, it's just that they don't have any originality whatsoever.
Damnit, now I have to listen to some Between the Buried and Me.
