Remakes are like movie sequels, in general they suck so bad you want to stab someone in the eye with a spoon.

Yeah yeah you don't have to like it (not everyone understands metal is the best genre Smug) - what I appreciate most about covers in general, metal or not, is that instead of trying to copy the original song the cover band takes the song and makes it their own.

true enough , but even adding there own sound to it is sometimes enough, its called a cover after all no need to switch it all up , add solo's and stuff

op track is good

a cover that just completely replicates the original is not really what I'd consider good (and for that matter the 'support the troops' bullshit is just that, bullshit).

oh, and I guess a contribution to this thread Smile

lol, no not in the slightest. I was just posting some more half decent covers that I don't mind Wink

btw, the problem I had with the song in the OP is that the idea that a band would prostitute themselves to the 'support the troops'/pro-war crowd is pretty fucking reprehensible and the kind of shit that fucking jonas brothers / beiber / jessica simpsons / etc. would do.

How are they doing that exactly? So any unintended attention the video gets are on their heads? It's not like it's spinning on MTV daily, its on youtube and free to watch(on their own official channel). That is like blaming Nietzche for Adolf Hitler because he took inspiration from his writings..

Denmark has troops in Afghanistan. I support them. I have friends down there. Regardless of how you feel about their presence there, the individual soldiers aren't to blame and certainly a music video which is basically a memory for the troops and the band sure as shit isn't mediawhoring...thats just my view anyway..even if it was intended so by the band; 250k views doesn't a culture change make

edit: what a rant but it is 4 in the morning...and I think the cover is badass, btw Very Happy

Vader stayed faithful to the original. I think that's actually one of the better covers I've heard of it. Pantera totally messed it up imo.
