Maybe i'm childish, but i think this show is the greatest thing since the Lord of The Rings trilogy.
It's even better than my all time favourite cartoon "The Mysterious Cities of Gold".
Any fellow fans here?

This show has it all, great animation, amazing story (with lots of real-life references), a sense of humour and epic battles.
You will not regret downloading this.

I thought the same at first, but i was pleasently surprised with the quality of the story.
It's definitely not on the same level as pokemon.

As far as i know the cartoon is american/canadiad so it's not really anime.
Anyway, I saw a few episodes on the tely and it didn't grab my interest. Have you tried watching any "real" animes CB?

I've seen quite a few, but mostly classics. Things like Grendizer, Mazinger Z, Captain Tsubasa and Space Battleship Yamato.
Most new animes i've seen i didn't like (Naruto, Dragonball Z, Bleach, Yu-Gi-Oh).
Any recommendations for good modern animes?

yamato was the very very first anime i ever saw when i was a kid. you know, back when we had REAL movie mediums. VHS! none of this dvd crap!
bleach sucked ass. the first story arc was good, but everything else was complete rubbish.
good anime: trigun, berserk, gungrave, bebop, outlaw star, hellsing (both the ova and the series), and also fullmetal alchemist... some dont like it, but what do they know? nothing, thats what. fma was a great journey, and has hands down one of the coolest moments ever in anime. bleach did also have one of the greatest moments in anime as well, right at the end of the soul society arc. also ghost in the shell (series) if you can handle a slower, less action-packed series.
either way, trigun, berserk, gungrave and bebop are unmissable, those are what you should see. trigun starts out goofy but gets pretty heavy later. berserk has the most gut wrenching ive ever seen in an anime, second only to bebop ( ), and gungrave is a pretty epic series thats part drama part over the top action. all are classy shows, none of that big titted giggling anime girl crap, if u know what i mean.

Sure, check out death note, samurai champloo, full metal alchemist, hellsing (there are 2 versions, the original and ova, check-out both) and Code Geass (i didn't watch that one myself but i heard that it's really good).
That should keep you busy for a while.

If you like non stop fighting, get yu yu hakusho. I liked the simplistic story, great fighting scenes, and the humor. For the thinking anime, i havent seen anything better than Death Note, but id recommend you get it in original Japanese with subs, since i once tried to watch CN version, and i thought the voices were totally off especially for the death god. And of course you cant forget the classic Akira.
Edit: Forgot about another great anime. Hajime no Ippo, what a great anime. Its about a young boxer rising up (you know the typical anime story), but it has an awesome story, great humor, and beautiful fighting. There is no supernatural stuff, just plain boxing, but i think its one of the greatest animes. And its relatively short, only 76 episodes and 2 great movies, so no fillers.
Sig too big. -Nothing is too big for Fedor. Expect a nasty armbar.

This would have been the worst piece of shit I've seen this year, if I hadn't already seen Legion. They took one of the best anime series that came out of America and turned it into an hour an a half teen drama with as much CGI as could be shoved onto the screen.
The only piece of good acting came from Shaun Toub who plays Zuko's uncle. But his decent performance makes the other "actors" seem even more souless and bland.
I hate you Shyamalan, I hate you with a passion of a thousand suns for turning epic fantasy into a fucking comedy.
