i played it about 1 day, then i got bored and uninstalled it.
not my type of game, but yeah, otherwise a good-looking game.

Well I played UT2003 and uninstalled it after about 1 day. I downloaded the dvd version of UT2k4 and I must say its pretty fun. Its probably the same but I actually payed attention to customizing my team and i finally found onslaught with all the vehicles.

Onslaught is pretty nice. except that ... it's the same old thing.
what's good though, is the mods that are coming out for the game like Red Orchestra

Yea I saw it it looks nice. I installed Alien Swarm, I was expecting a sorta first person/strategy. Someone be the commander commanding the people in first person from a world perspective (or whatever its called lol).
But its not, heh, still cool concept and view and all that tho.

You got another one who got very bored here. I keep playing BF Vietnam instead and it's entertaining every moment I touch it. It's so damn fun to play with your friends. Poor linux users, UT2004 is the best updated retail shooter they can get.

it's pretty same like other UT, except the vehicles and that gets boring after some time.

I would like to see Halo 2 on PC. It looks awesome and the improvements from the first one are great. I think we'll have to wait some time and I hope they've improved the engine for the pc when they port it.

I really like the game myself. It's my favourite dm game at the moment as Quake III has become a bit stale and all the servers are modded to hell now. I prefer unmodded straight DM so the Onslaught mode doesn't really appeal but I still play DM a lot and sometimes the odd Instagib match to improve my accuracy. It's just a bit of a pain that the stats servers have been down for the last 3 months.

^^^As Always. I love UT2004. I make the game speed faster and play zoom instagib with difficult bots. So much fun. CTF and Deathmatch are the best. |

yepp, i played UT2004 some days ago for the first time online, but it was no pleasure at all.
the guys from epic did a fine job with this one, but if you are looking for fast action like quake3 (playing q3 since the first day -dec.1999-) ya get bored after some minutes.
there are too many weapons, the gfx are fine but they wont kick my brain, coz they r not straight to the point like idsoft games.
so i have to wait for doom3...
anyway, big respect to epic for this fine title!

I uninstalled this game about 1 week after I got it, but from seeing all these mods coming out for it, I will be reinstalling it. The Mods look awsome!!

Trooper 2004 mod out tonight! (I'm hangin' out in their IRC channel waiting for release, should be a few hours).
This release has some vehicles to it too, X-Wing, TieFighter, etc.
Should be fun, these guys have some nice talent.
