They LOWERED the speed limit in Norway? Personally I'm glad to hear that. The new Dutch government (right wing populists) have increased to speed limit to 130km/h. The air quality in large cities is already shit and things will only get worse this way. Not to mention the extra CO2 emissions.

High speed limits are financially also very attractive for the government, because high speeds require much more energy and thus fuel. E=1/2mv^2 right? Which means more taxes.

You do know that the entire CO2 thing is pretty much a lie, the only reason it isnt being scandalized is that its become a billion dollar business on itself. Publicly declaring that the danger that is CO2 is not caused by man but a natural phenonomon would put hundreds of thousands out of work and ruin entire businesses build on that. If you put all the CO2 output of man together and compare it to a vulcanic outburst or the total CO2 that is put out by the sea you would not be so caring about the CO2 ouput of humans. I find it always troubling that this entire thing has been accepted as truth by the public opinion while it has been proven otherwise.

I never said that, Im only referring to that using CO2 as an argument is not really that convincing.

@Rofl_Mao: these speed limits are only temperary. but we do have the lowest speedlimits in europe. Highest is 100. 110 a short period to see the effectiveness. But no, back to 100.
